Thank you so much to all of you beautiful people for the congrats and well wishes. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the awesome comments, tweets and emails. It’s a very exciting chapter we’re about to start and I will no doubt be milking the knowledge of you more experienced Mama’s as time goes on!
As for now… This is precisely what my life looks like at this moment in time: Packing, cleaning, packing, eating and packing some more. For, tomorrow we leave our beautiful little two bed apartment in the sky to move to an altogether more grown up (and child friendly) house south of the river.
I can’t wait to show you guys around it.
It’s an old federation house with high ceilings and glorious light. It’s close to farmers markets and an area called Fremantle which is a more bohemian part of the country.
And while in the meantime I have this sh*t to deal with…
I am also away with the fairies half the time thinking of how to make this new place feel like home. So far, my overactive stylin‘ mind has drifted towards…
Our guest room. I have grand ideas for this house to be a haven that friends and family love to spend time in. Our ‘guest room’ previously was more of a crash pad for friends who’d had one too many glasses of wine to drive home. However, with Gavin’s parents staying for the month of September and my own beautiful Mother making the trip across the world for the birth of our Cub, I want this space to be a complete home away from home.
I have always harboured a bit of a metal homeware obsession (I think you guys know this) so these colourful wire baskets haven’t escaped my attention.
We currently do not have a bath. Just a shower room. In the new place… We have a f*cking claw foot tub. Almost identical to the tub you see in the above photo. I cannot explain to you just how excited I am about my date with that tub and a variety of Lush bath bombs.
We’ve gone and purchased a nice big country style kitchen table for this place. I do love it, but I also would love to make it a little more me. As undecided as I am about the whole dip painting trend… it would be a great way to add a bit of colour to the set.
And lastly. The nursery. I’ve never decorated a nursery before. And as much as people are telling me not to, I can’t help but think about having the room ready for the baby coming. As much as I know the Cub will be in my room for the first little while, I can’t imagine trying to decorate a room and look after a little one at the same time. Plus, I know my fingers will be itching to buy/make cute things.
So keep an eye on my Instagram feed if you want to see sneak peeks of the new place.
Oh and I haven’t forgotten… I’ll be sharing some of our favourite Thailand photos soon.
Massive love and moving/pregnancy fatigue,
